Beyond the Baseline tells the story of those who built Black tennis in the city, creating a legacy that opened doors for future generations. With institutions like Johnson C. Smith University and West Charlotte High School courts, the Westside became a cornerstone of Black tennis, shaping a legacy that extends well beyond Charlotte.
